Expectations after joining the register
After you've joined:
- your registration indicates interest in self-build or custom build housing and helps shape local plan policy
- you will receive email notifications about self-build and custom-build opportunities before they are publicly advertised by the developer
- email correspondence will apply to both self-build and custom-build opportunities without distinction
- there's no guarantee of a plot being provided
- we're not obligated to assist in finding plots
Length of registration
Registration is valid for 3 years.
Updating or removing your entry
If your circumstances change, you can update or remove your entry by contacting us at selfbuild@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk.
Data collected informs local plan policy and helps assess demand.
Data is analysed in the Self-build and Custom-Build Report (PDF), reported in the Authority Monitoring Report (AMR) and in the government's self-build and custom housebuilding data.
Free plot-finder websites
There are various ‘plot finder’ websites where you can search for self-build or custom-build plots. We recommend doing your own online research when choosing one of these.
