What do you think of the roads and transport across Central Bedfordshire?

Online surveys have been opened for Central Bedfordshire residents to share their views on roads and transport in order to inform future planning.

We have signed up to the National Highways and Transport Public (NHT) Satisfaction Survey. The survey asks members of the public the same questions across England and Scotland. Participating councils can then compare results and share best practice.

The online surveys are open to all our residents and cover views on various highway and transport services, from the condition of roads and footpaths to the quality of cycling facilities.

The survey themes include:

  • accessibility
  • active travel
  • communication
  • highway maintenance
  • public transport
  • road safety
  • tackling congestion

There are real benefits to conducting a public survey like this; residents can help inform our teams where they should be making changes across Central Bedfordshire. The feedback allows us to identify key areas that need attention, such as road conditions, safety features and infrastructure quality, enabling targeted investment where it is most needed. By benchmarking against other councils, we can assess how well it is performing and prioritise improvements based on residents’ feedback.

The surveys are open until 28 February 2026. The results will be published in spring 2026.
