Is there a limit to the number of bookings I can make?
There is no limit to the number of bookings to deposit unrestricted waste using an unrestricted vehicle.
If you want to bring restricted items, you will be limited to the number of bookings you can make. For more information on restricted items, please visit what waste will our household waste recycling centres not accept.
What if I arrive at the site without booking?
All residents are required to book before they visit. Staff on site reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone who does not have a valid booking.
What happens if I miss my booked time?
Subject to availability you can book another time slot.
Alternatively, if you know you can no longer visit during your booked time you can easily amend/cancel your booking via the link on your booking confirmation email.
Can I book on the day I wish to visit?
Yes, subject to time-slot availability. To check and book, please visit our online booking form.
Can I arrive at any time during the 20-minute booking?
Yes. We have a 20-minute slot to allow for traffic flow.
Can someone who is not a resident of Central Bedfordshire apply for a booking?
No – only residents of Central Bedfordshire can use our household waste recycling centres (tidy tips).
How many bookings can I make at a time?
You can make up to 2 bookings at a time, subject to availability.
What information will I need to provide to make a booking?
You will need to provide:
- Your name
- Your email
- Your address (to verify you are a Central Bedfordshire resident)
- The site you wish to visit
- Your vehicle registration number
- The date and time you wish to visit
Will I have to pay to use the recycling centres?
No – using the household waste recycling centres (tidy tips) is completely free.
Can I cancel or change my booking?
Yes. You can amend or cancel your booking via the link on your booking confirmation email at any time.
How will the booking system be enforced?
There will be staff on site to carry out checks and verify bookings.
How do I book if I do not have internet access?
Please call the council to make a booking. Their contact information is available on the Central Bedfordshire Council website.
Do I need to book if I only want to visit the reuse shop at Thorn Turn?
No – if you only wish to donate, browse or buy items in the reuse shop you do not need a booking.
