We the undersigned petition the Council to Install a Pedestrian Crossing on the busy road that links north and south Dunstable.
Recently the school crossing patrol has been removed, Chiltern Road in Dunstable is a substantially busy road in and out of rush hour.
The reason for this petition is to safe guard the children and parents alike that cross for the local schools. Currently, a roundabout at the T junction is not used by drivers sufficiently but is the reason a Pedestrian Crossing cannot be placed on the road.
The crossing wait time can be up to 7 minutes to find a safe time to cross, at times there have been near misses with pedestrians and cars due to unsafe areas to cross this road.
